A Person’s Achievement is a Company’s Success
In the workplace, it is known that various people have different personalities which are said to be helpful, as they complement the needs of the organization. In order to know my type of personality and learn about my strengths and weaknesses, I took the Myers-Briggs Test. After reading the first question in the test, I realized that it was not a simple test that I could answer without any thought. The Myer’s Briggs Test was a something that I seriously answered in order to for the results to be accurate. After all, the results would state a lot about the possible career paths that I can take which suit my personality. Thus, based on the results, I would be able to choose a job or career where I would be able to maximize my capabilities.

While I was taking the test, I noticed that the questions were very tricky in a sense that it just repeatedly questioned my actions and response in every situation that it provided. Although there were questions that were similar to one another, some of these queries pertained to other issues in connection to my personality.
After seeing the results of my test, I was utterly shocked to see that I have an Introvert, Intuitive, Feeling and Perceiving (IIFP) personality. First and foremost, I believe that I am not an introvert. Although I know that I am not as sociable compared to others, I am generally friendly towards individuals and approach other people with ease. There are times when I feel that I do not want to interact with other people because I need to unwind and reflect on the events which happened in the past. However, most of the time, I realize that I need and want someone to accompany me or just simply to be with me to talk to and share some of the thoughts and ideas that I have. The report and analysis of the test also state that I am an idealist. In this case, I would have to agree—I am in fact an idealist; I have these thoughts about having a perfect humanity.
Through this test, I also realized that I intentionally use my emotions in any type of situation that I face instead of being practical. With this type of result, I realized that in the work place, I need to be able to balance my emotions in order to have a proper decision over professional matters. While my personality was also said to be a “healer” according to the results of the test analysis, it is said that I have an immediate concept of ethics and morality that enables me to determine what is right from wrong. à is this what a healer is? If yes, let me know, ayusin ko eheeh. Can’t seem to explain how to revise it J This is important in the work place, as having ethical values as well as morality bring about a very positive work attitude because it strengthens the individual’s concept of how to act properly while in an uncomfortable situation or a difficult problem. With the concept of morality at hand, the possibility of being corrupted by other individuals or clients in the workplace would be lessened. Instead of the individual involving him- or herself with negative actions, moral values will save the him or her from giving in to various temptations in the workplace.
In order for my managerial skills to be molded and strengthened, it is important for me to create actions to have a much more balanced approach in any problem. It would be better for me to have a direct knowledge about myself and my decision-making. Due to my tendency to become emotionally attached to the situation or the person involved, I might not be able to create a just action; rather, I would be impulsive and inaccurate which could lead to the worst case scenario in the workplace.
In addition, I need to work on my people skills and become more approachable and friendly to the people that I manage and work with. For a manager to be successful in handling a department or a company, he or she should be able to effectively communicate to the subordinates so as to enhance cooperation and balance within the department. Through effective communication, the department would be able to display an outstanding performance and teamwork and help to accomplish the organizational goals.
Overall, the personality test was accurate. It made me realize the values and perspective that I need to use in order for me to be successful as a manager. I also recognized the need for me to improve myself and my personality, and the improvements would also help me to guide the company and my co-workers to success.
