I wish to join the MSc program in Asian politics at the school of Oriental and African studies. My interest in the course has been sparked off by a personal desire to contribute to the political future of the Asian sub-continent and a possible career in politics. On completion of the course I believe I shall have a better appreciation of the dynamics influencing political events in the region.
I graduated with a LLB in 2004 from University of Kent at Canterbury and currently I am pursuing a LLM in business and commercial law at Liverpool John More University. Since 2004, I have successfully completed postgraduate diplomas and certificates in commercial and criminal law. In addition to these law courses, I successfully completed professional studies in public speaking, leadership skills and, communication skills.
As part of my training for the LLB degree, I worked at various law offices in Pakistan. The experience I gained there, informed me of the challenges faced by the ordinary person in the search for justice. Commitment, an eye for detail, diplomatic interrogation, a keen ear and intensive research skills are aspects I learnt are vital in the execution of one’s duties. I believe these skills will serve

One of my personal goals includes fighting for the rights of the oppressed peoples in Asia and the world in general. With a background in law, I can achieve that objective successfully. However, I need to gain an in depth knowledge of the Asian politics, the events that shaped the history of Asia, and the factors that will contribute to future political developments. I am convinced on completion of the master’s course, I shall be well educated on these aspects.
I am fluent in a six Asiatic languages; this should make my mission in life a lot easier. The experience I gained working and studying in London has given me a global perspective which I shall adopt in all my undertakings. This will ensure I do not limit my skills to the Asian people, but rather seek to serve the world. I am confident that you will accept my application and together we can shape the political future of Asia.
