Business Frontline Management

One of the important parts of professional development plan is putting together a plan to realize your career advancement and goals to attain. Developing and implementing a long term professional development plan is no easy task but it improves and develops a better and more systematic planning. Identifying, analyzing and goal setting are the three most important personal units that are needed for a professional and personal development in a span of twelve months. Observation is the key in identifying the area which needs development.

Reflect on that area and analyze what kind of professional development is best suited. Then comes the goal setting, it knows when the plan will be implemented, who will be affected by its implementation and how long it is expected to see the development. Learning & researching continuously is very important . Knowing more information in your field of work is very much needed for a successful development plan. Learning can be acquired through research, interaction with different groups of people and by attending seminars.

Setting our goals is the most crucial part. It is the implementation of the plan for the better. It takes a lot of effort personally and also for the team. Without the

cooperation and willingness of the team to follow, it would not be successful. Group effort and sacrifice is needed to achieve the desired outcome. Without a hundred percent cooperation, the development plan might not work for its best.

There are certain areas that are important to improve work priorities and manage a team and attaining its goal. First is acknowledging success. This includes recognizing and rewarding performances that excels the most, setting high standards, providing effective feedback, locating important resources that will support the staff, and providing a better opportunity for ongoing development and guidance for career development of the members. A well organize plan and schedule that serves as a guide for balancing task requirements, setting challenging but achievable goals, and setting workload schedules and standards is needed.

Also experimentation and risk taking is another important area. Trying out new things and taking risk for the better may lead to success.  Another thing is looking back and assessing the changes that occur since you started improving for the better and continue monitoring it.  Collaboration with the team is also needed. Working together as a team member, identifying a range of available resource and involving others in decision making will be more effective for a better outcome. Having enough time to assess and implement a more organized plan is important. Improvement and a better outcome cannot be rushed and can only be seen gradually.

A professional development plan shows an organize schedule of your short-term and long-term goals. In addition to the identification of goals, a systematic plan for meeting those goals is developed. It is seen in the timeline the detailed goals and the time needed for it to be evaluated or implemented. Example:

A more unified and organized system is the end product of a well thought professional development plan. The result is a more effective, professional and supportive structure to provide for the on-going evaluation of the company, coordinated with a continuous plan to enhance professional development. It should have a more effective impact in everyone’s achievement and can be the key for a more successful and organize development plan.
