Business Law Activity
.) Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) – An alternative dispute resolution is another option in resolving the argument between two parties. Courts often encourage the parties to explore various kinds of ADRs in order to save taxpayers’ money by freeing up the courts and avoiding the long, involved process of a trial. Examples include arbitration, negotiation, and mediation.
.) Jurisdiction – Although the term jurisdiction literally means “the power to speak the law”, the common usage describes the areas in which a court rules over certain individuals.
.) Judicial Review – Judicial review encompasses the duties of the judicial branch, and includes interpreting the constitution to check the other two branches of government.
.) Discovery – The ability for the prosecution and the defense teams to find evidence and information to supplement their cases.
.) Pleadings – The pleadings are a combination of the plaintiff’s complaint and the defendant’s answer to the accusations.
