Campaign finance reform: boon or bane?
Money and politics have existed hand in hand. Money is budgeted and spent for various causes for the welfare of the people: projects, scholarships, and even campaigns. Campaigns are made to be able to influence a certain group of people, depending on what the target of the campaign is. The most common of which are, of course, political campaigns which involve the people in general, especially if we’re talking about election. In the United States, a reform has been established to impose a change on how money is used in politics as a whole.
It even emphasizes to somewhat control the money used specifically on political campaigns. This is referred to as Campaign Finance Reform (Wikipedia, 2007). If we focus on political campaigns, Campaign Finance Reform favors those politicians who are already in position because they have already been recognized by the people, which makes it hard for the new ones who are trying to get a certain position. Also, the incumbent need not much advertising since they can be recognized by the projects they have done in the past.

They say it isn’t a wise move to compress the money used in political campaigns. They should instead divert and point to some laws that holds back people’s right in any way (James Bopp, 1999). There had been a wide share of points of view depending on the speaker’s status.
