Differentiation and integration are quite important for an organization
Understanding the concepts of differentiation and integration are quite important for an organization and both of them are widely used when the environments are uncertain. The differentiation is basically the difference in the products and services of an organization and the core objective of differentiation is to develop a unique attribute in the products and services in such a way that customers would be attracted from it. The differentiation of products can be extremely beneficial for an organization and the entire organization resides on differentiation.
Through proper differentiation a sustainable competitive advantage can easily be attained by an organization and in this way an organization can progress in both the short and the long run. Besides differentiation the element of integration is also important for an organization and usually there are two types of integration. The first one is horizontal integration. Horizontal integration is referred as an integration in which organizations within the same industry amalgamate with each other.
However, in vertical integration organization that are different in nature amalgamate together in order to attain their desired goals. Usually, in competitive environment both these scenarios will the greater because organizations have to differentiate their products and they will engage in mergers and acquisitions in the scenario of stiff competition (Gibson, 2008). However, if the organization is performing quite well then they won’t differentiate or integrate. That is the reason why one can easily say that both the elements differentiation and integration are linked together and both of them help and organization.
2. Describe Environmental uncertainty through the Framework. How to adapt to a new level of environmental uncertainty? The performance of the organization is based on the structure of organizations and if the structure of the organization is diverse then the organization try its level base to manage its operations and manage the uncertain option. Environmental uncertainty is quite common in the perspective of organizations and usually there are two types of environmental uncertainties. These two categories are contingency and perpetual views.
The perpetual stage of business is involved in the business in which stages are involved to describe the stages. These processes are noticing, interpreting and etc. Environmental uncertainty can be beneficial for an organization and sometime it would be disruptive for an organization but it all depends upon the fact that how well it is being presented by the organization. Therefore, achieving new level of environment uncertainty can be extremely difficult because it varies with time and standard. 3. What is an organic organization? A mechanistic organization?
How does the environment influence organic and mechanistic structures? An organic organization is an organization that was widely sought and it is widely proposed in reality this organization doesn’t really exist. The people in the organic organizations are working with no job descriptions and they are communicated through a hub like device. This type of organization is considered to be the most adaptive form of organizations because it is quite fluid and flexible in reality and the tasks in the organizations are performed by multi-talented individuals.
The structure of management in mechanistic organization is quite formalized and all the process and procedures are administered quite carefully. Such a formal behavior is usually driven by high efficiency behavior and mechanistic organizations ensue that when the tasks and technologies are stable utilizations should take place. Therefore, it can be said that mechanistic organizations is linked with the environment of the organization and it focuses a lot on the environment of an organization.
