The principle of rationalization has been employed by McDonald resulting into key underlying features of the principle of McDonaldization as described Weber. These features include predictability, efficiency, control and calculability.

These features have greatly impacted on the employees of the company, their customers and other businesses and the world society at large due to the rapid growth of the principle of McDonaldization all over the world. This paper therefore discusses these features of McDonaldization in details in order to clearly understand how it has impacted on the world economy (Turner, 241). This efficiency is both enjoyed the employees of the company and its customers. From a business point of view, McDonald’s significantly benefits from this efficiency.

The company trains its employees to follow specific guidelines employed in all of its shops to ensure that the customers get the products of their choice in the shortest time possible. The company also trains its employees on the most reliable and efficient approaches to employ in completing tasks such as using a BigMac which does not allow permit individual based decisions throughout the process. The overall impact of the process is the guarantee little resources and time are wasted. From the customer’s standpoint, the principle of McDonaldization provides an efficient and a fast means to transform from hunger to fullness (Ritzer, 12).

It has become increasingly easily to obtain quick services from McDonald restaurants because of their widespread and quick services. The company has developed a drive-through lane which ensures that customers are served without necessarily leaving their cars. Some of these lanes use RFID chips entrenched into road passes which are available in their cars and thereby allowing customers to pay for the services more efficiently and quickly. This eliminates the requirement of employing a drive through attendant and consequently saves customers time (Usatoday. com, 15).
