International Relations

United States involvement in the Persian Gulf wars has not triggered positive respond among many nations in the Persian Gulf. Considering their resources they feel that the United States has attempted to lay some strategies of controlling the region and eventually dictate on the energy resources prices and utilization with an intention of gaining economically from the deal. This has in most cases triggered a high resistance from the Persian Gulf nations, and has adversely affected the cooperation among these nations. In the year 1991 Persian gulf war started which involved Iraq and other nations led by united states.

This resulted from Iraq invading Kuwait on the claim that Kuwait had drawn oil from a region which belonged to Iraq. The accumulated resistance of Iraq to withdraw its troops from Kuwait from increased pressure from other nations led by united states caused the war to break up and Iraq was drastically affected both by damage of infrastructure and death of human beings. The increased war led to tremendous increase of terrorist activities which were subjected and targeted to the united states interests in the Persian gulf (Record, J. 1993). Most of the terrorist’s activities in the Persian Gulf are carried out through bombing, suicide bombers, assassinations and murder. These activities have undesirable effects to the nations due to consequences which abuses human rights. Bombing of buildings and infrastructure with the aim of destroying United States territories have so far resulted to many people and citizens of the same nation where terrorists are operating to loss their lives. There has been an increased fear among the Persian nations especially in places where the United States activities are involved.

This has denied human beings the freedom of movement and free operations in fear of attack by terrorists any time. It is common to find that the terrorists are recruited from the same Persian Gulf nations which have interfered with many families stability causing a lot of conflicts and non peaceful circumstances. Most world conflicts relates to the terrorist activities that are carried out in many places in the world. Various circumstances may result to the rise of terrorism and thus contribute to terrorist activities in the world.

This can be witnessed in cases like the collapse of the Soviet Union which represented the global superpower and had a record of largest army forces in the world. In 1991 Boris Yeltrin captured power which saw the collapse of the Soviet Union. The economic situations in the Soviet Union had deteriorated and the government could not control it. This was due to the increase in government expenditure and also decline in tax revenue due to reluctance of public in returning the revenues. Other policies were introduced which had a drastic effect to the economic crisis.

In 1990 the USSR was dissolved and the elections were held. The central government received more pressure which resulted into a further decline to the soviet economy later Ukrainian, Russia and Belarusian signed a declaration of dissolving the Soviet Union and instead formed a common wealth of independent states. According to Ronald (1993) the major contribution to the fall of the Soviet Union was a result of the collapse in the economy. The population could not be supported by resources that were available in the Soviet Union which resulted in importation.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, many problems were experienced like the increase of poverty and economic crisis which accounted to the increased level of violence and terrorist activities. As a way to gain political support some leaders involved terrorist activities through sponsoring vibrant group of people who could manage to cause an impact in the region. Some political groups utilized the collapsed economy to mobilize desperate people in the involvement of terrorist activities in a bid to over throw the government.

As a result many individuals later adopted terrorism as a means of survival and in the struggle to capture the political power. Increased poverty which was a result of the collapse of the Soviet Union led many individuals to be recruited as terrorists and resulted to the increased terrorism in the world. Most of the terrorist activities were increased by the fact that Soviet Union before collapsing had a wealth of weapons and the technology to make them. Most experts would therefore utilize the knowledge in fulfilling their missions in the struggle towards economic and political benefits.

World conflicts remain a persistence problem to human beings globally with no guaranteed remedy or immediate solution to promote peace everywhere. With the growing terrorism and undesirable politics which promotes more violence combined with poor governance the situation in the world continues to worsen and unexpected deaths and sufferings will always be experienced all the places.
