A manager is usually in a position of a leader. A manager in organizations should be well behaved especially when there are strategic decisions to be made such as mergers . Generally a leader is supposed to make sure that his or her behavior is in a way which will end up raising the productivity of subordinates or other workers. A manager who creates a positive working environment is likely to put the employees’ productivity at the top. The workers will always be happy and ready to give extra efforts in their daily endeavors. Sacrifices from the workers will be a popular thing when the manager is well behaved.

A manager who creates a negative working environment will always be driving the organizations’ productivity down. This will be occasioned by the fact that the employees will always be having a negative attitude towards their work hence poor productivity. Those managers who create negative working environments will always find their workers not ready to give all to their duties. If managers create unfavorable working environments the workers will not be ready to give certain vital sacrifices to the organization such as working extra hours.

well with the workers since this will create an understanding and enable each of them to attain the desired results. Workers working under a manager who knows how to relate with them and also other parties will always display a high level of productivity and vise versa. If a manager behaves badly conflicts are likely to arise amongst the team he or she is leading. This will always create a deviation from the organizations objectives hence creating poor productivity. There are certain guidelines in employment laws which should always be observed.

As a manager one is supposed to be aware and respectful of the underlined laws concerning employees. There are actions by management that are in line with employment laws and others that are not. One of the actions that are consistent with employment laws is hiring legal persons . The law requires that all employers should be aware that employing illegal people is punishable by law. The managers should take their time in verifying the identities of prospective workers to ensure that they do not hire against the employment law.

Another action which is in line with employment laws is creating equity in salaries and wages payment. The law requires that all employers should be careful not to underpay or create payment scales which are not fair. A manager treating all the employees equally is as per employment laws. No any form of discrimination either in lines of race, colour, ethnic group, or gender should be tolerated by managers. Discrimination by managers is an illegal act . Managers should by all means not condone cases or intentions of sexual harassment or assault.

This will be an act of upholding the employment laws. Actions of managers causing emotional distress to the employees are inconsistent with employment laws. All managers should be emotionally accommodating to the employees. Other actions by managers which align with employment laws include condemning bullying in work places and avoiding unlawful terminations of employees; any act which contravenes these positive actions is unlawful. Good managers should be able to plan for employee training which should be in line with the employment laws.

The training facilities should be safe for the employees. During a persons productive life, especially managers it is most probable that he or she will work in diverse environments. Being able to harbor practices that enable one to survive and be efficient is very important. There are several practices for working in diverse environments such as: Continuity in learning-One should be ready and willing to learn more in his or her line of specialization and also about other general related issues.

This will keep one knowledgeable and able to fit well in various environments. Integrity-For a person to be able to work in diverse environments, upholding ones integrity is very important. This will enable one to be viewed as a trustworthy and professional. This will create confidence from employees and fellow managers. Flexibility-One should be able to adjust towards various aspects of working environments . Flexibility will make one be able to go about different tasks which are new to him or her with ease hence upholding or improving productivity.

Innovative practices-For one to be able to work in diverse environments innovation and creativity is a very important aspect. This will enable one discover and learn new ways of doing Things. It will also lead to making work easier. Team player-It is always good for a person to learn how to work with others as a team. This swill enable one to learn or improve on skills and also share his or her knowledge with others . This will eventually improve productivity. Other very important practices are based on character, which enables one to relate well with others, be able to share and listen.
