Management for Organizational Excellence

... life. In respect to this paper, a critical appraisal of quality and its elements will be addressed (Goetsch, 2010). The quality pioneer was very successful after due consideration of the total quality elements. In the case of the quality pioneer, he was very keen in applying all the elements of quality which included; planning, doing, checking, acting, and analyzing.

First, the aspect of conducting consumer research to identify expectations and demands of the consumer was very beneficial. From this aspect, the quality pioneer was able to plan in accordance with consumer’s expectations thus enabling him to be successful. Secondly, the quality pioneer was able to succeed since with the right plan of the product and consumer knowledge he was able to produce a quality product which will satisfy consumer expectations. Importantly, adequate check up and monitoring of the product was very beneficial since it ensured that it was produced as per the plan.

From this aspect, the quality pioneer was assured of full satisfaction of the consumers regarding the product (Goetsch, 2010). Despite the fact that the quality pioneer had produced quality products as per consumer expectations, he ensured that sufficient marketing was conducted. On this aspect the quality pioneer marketed the product by word of mouth. It should be noted that, through personal selling or marketing by a word of mouth the he was able to get information on how the product is received in the market.

A point worth noting is that, with information from marketplace he was able to analyze consumer’s behavior and make the necessary improvements (Goetsch, 2010). For a successful and enjoyable life, man can not avoid the aspect of quality in all his undertakings and needs. With lack of quality the aspects of substandard products, unpleasant services, and lack of communication will always prevail. It should further be noted that, for prosperity in life good quality is inevitable.

With the consideration of quality elements as the quality pioneer did, human needs and expectations will be fulfilled. This is achievable through carrying research on people’s expectations, planning for the products, production, checking, and analysis of consumer behavior (Goetsch, 2010). With advancement of technology, globalization, and liberalization of markets; the future of quality is at jeopardy. The use of computers in production, marketing and displacement of human resource by machines will drastically reduce the quality of goods in the present and future.

Excessive use of computers and other machines is leading to reduction of consumer communication with the producer thus leading to a reduction in quality. This is evident because the conduct between consumer and produce is limited thus no discussion on consumer expectations and tastes. On the other hand, people like dealing with real people whereby they can share their opinions regarding the products and services. It is with no doubt that quality will diminish as time passes by and as much as technology is to be adopted (Goetsch, 2010). Conclusion

To sum up, it is worthwhile to address the concept of quality in all human life in order to achieve prosperity and joy in life. On this basis, quality elements should be adhered to since they ensure that human expectations and needs are catered for in production of goods and services. Further, it should be considered that the use of technology in production and marketing be limited since it contributes to quality decrease. Reference list Goetsch, D. , & Davis, S. (2010).
