The term ;digital divide’ describes the fact that the world can be divided into people who do and people who don’t have access to- and the capability to use – modern information technology, such as the telephone, television, or the Internet. The digital divide exists between those in cities and those in rural areas. For example, a 1999 study showed that 86% of Internet delivery was to the 20 largest cities.

The digital divide also exists between the educated and the uneducated, between economic classes, and, globally, between the more and less Industrially developed actions. It also describes the socioeconomic condition or disparities between the people who have ability to use the digital facilities and people who do not have the ability or educational concern to use it. This divide separates the world between two form which are rich countries and the poor countries or the cities and the rural areas based on the facilities of detail access to telephone, television and specially the internet. . The school classrooms of today are trying to improvise technology In as many areas as possible to help what Is known as the Digital natives. Digital natives are the children who have been brought up around technology and all it has to offer.

Children can be affected by the digital divide in many ways, however In my opinion it can be categorized in two main ways such: 1 . Children who has the access to digital world/ facilities and affects of it – The children with the digital facilities will be more advance and faster to the technology. They can gain more knowledge of the world than others. ; It will help them even after their study to pursue Jobs. – It helps them to entertain themselves and find more funny stuffs through internet or other medias. – It will build children ability to think forward and faster. At the same time too much Interaction with digital staffs may lead the children to some sorts of negative things such as having eye-vision problems, less concentration on study, become narrow minded, having access to porn websites, losing social interactions and so on. 2. Children who do not have the access to the digital world/ facilities and its affect of it On the other hand those who do not have access to the digital facilities are way backward than the children who have access. – They will have lack of knowledge of using those digital technologies and lack of out world Information. Cosmologies. – They will be deprived of learning and entertainment facilities when the others are enjoying. – They will be more dependent on others for the help if there is a need of using such devices. – They might be moral than the children who use digital technologies but end of the day they will lack of many things. If we talk in educational aspects, we will see that because of digital divide in Mounties or cities the children are also being divided in term of having knowledge and access to the world.

This divide definitely has affects on the children in both ways either they are in the circle or out of the circle of the digital access. Finally I would like to end up saying that it it good to have digital access available to the children but there should be a limitations of using the facilities and the digital divide for sure has made the difference among the children of this world. So, we can conclude saying, this is how digital divide affects the children in the world.
