In this case, concerns are justified because the consultants did not try to understand the simplicity of the business and implemented a hard to use and non user friendly database which did not help the business.

Other factors include the owner’s non acceptability of using different technology in the business and not being willing to learn the nuances of the new technology. 2. Though data can be seen at a glance in the database through various queries, it becomes very difficult to complete a mail merge activity or send out a mass email.
Sorting out psychical and email addresses is an ordeal that many employees do not want to go through in this case as it takes longer and is more technical than the regular excel spreadsheets which are being used as a substitute for the database. 4. The problem that arises from maintaining separate pools of information at each end is that it does not allow for proper collection, storage and analysis of data which is the primary concern for any organization in terms of strategic growth.
Therefore, a centralized database with complete access at top level management and individualized access at the sales person level will be implemented as a policy. In this case, the problem is that analysis of data cannot be conducted and thus the management does not know how many clients the company has and what business is being generated from them. Control is lost in this case and in dire cases, fraudulent activity might not be getting traced in this scenario.
