aware of the importance of this research, some are finding it rather useful to implement the knowledge on new organizations to harness the advantages such improved production time and efficiency. As shall be seen latter, there are gaps in the modern literature relating to the designing of modern organization. This literature is crucial in consideration of the fact that the traditional organization has been touted as inadequate in solving the modern challenges at the workplace and the market.

Such deficiencies in literature shall be addressed. The market environment within which every organization is operating is characterized with very high competition. The market, whether local or international, is characterized with unpredictability as a result of dynamism of a variety of factors that are affecting the market, such as the government policies, labor flows, the natural incidences and technology, among others. For success, managers must know how to manage these uncertainties and turn them for their own good.

This is not even the most important aspect, but that the managers must be competitive enough in organizing and controlling the available and accessible resources to achieve the desired results. This is because there is high competition in the area of the ability to organize and control resources in the international markets. Owners of companies will be looking for competitive individuals who can take their organizations to the next level and render it competitive in the global market. Managers are sometimes employed on the basis of performance or retain their jobs on such basis, and therefore must prove that they are worth of the job.

As such, they must have the knowledge to organize and control the resources and organizations as a whole, in order to achieve the objectives that please the owners of the businesses. Of far much importance is the aligning of organizations and their resources to harness on the opportunities presented by the outside world. While it is important to efficiently manage internal resources, the external environment such as that offered by the cooperation between organization with government bodies, private sector and research institutions is very necessary today.

The survival of a single organization in the modern market is sometimes threatened by forces beyond its control, and hence the need to reach out to other organizations. An organization can align itself to benefiting from the impacts of associations it will form with others by considering that the impact of external forces is a necessary factor in the formulation of an effective organizational design. Managers need to know how they can utilize the knowledge on organizational design and control to harness these opportunities.

They must be able to discern who to cooperate with, and another thing, to know where to accommodate the external forces in their organizations. Thus, the knowledge on organizational design and control is not an option but a mandatory aspect of business. The paper discuses the modern as well as the traditional organization design theories. This paper discuses the aspect of Information Technology and its potential in relation to an organizational design, the organizational structure for the modern and traditional organization, as well as culture in modern and traditional organization.

There is as general evidence that Information Technology will form the tool for implementation and redesigning of the traditional organization into a new organization that will meet the present challenges head-on, and overcome them. Many organizations are lagging behind as far as implementation of IT is concerned as well as some lagging behind in implementing of the necessary changes for their systems to remain relevant in the market and workplace.

Utilization of this knowledge can help many firms that are not harnessing the power of Information Technology to realize new organizations that satisfactorily or largely addresses modern challenges facing them, can leverage on the theories to come up with effective cultures in their organizations as well as know how best to distribute power in the modern organization to get the maximum benefits.
