Management involves a skilful maintenance of balance between one’s personal life and professional career. Before the start of the course, I had several strengths and weaknesses, which were hidden within me, but were not realised by me. Now, I can manage my personal and professional skills for my own benefit, and for the progress of the organisation. It has further enhanced my existing oral and written communication skills. I am trying to become a good listener, and an effective speaker to present my ideas and opinions articulately. Further, as I worked on my assignments, I learnt to write logically and convincingly. I realised that good writing is as important as good speech.

Since life is a continuous learning process, I am learning to manage my time effectively by doing the things that are most essential in my personal life, and those which will eventually help me in my studies and professional career. Kevin Stirtz highlights the strengths that successful people possess: purpose in life, faith in their actions, performing a job with a focus of doing one thing at one time, and persistence. Slowly and steadily, I am developing my leadership skills as well that will help me to lead the team in my organisation.
Task 2 For effective management, personal and professional skills need to complement each other. His excellent personal skills enable him to devise promotional and marketing strategies to attract more customers. He is quick to understand the demands of the busy customers, and so, he introduces free doorstep delivery for orders above a certain minimum value. Besides, he has also provided space for eating inside the restaurant. Using his self-discipline with human resources, he keeps his employees motivated to deliver the best quality of services to the customers. Often, he rewards the best performing employees through weekly, monthly and annual gifts. Using his financial acumen, he tries to minimize losses and maximize profits.
To summarise, it is his proper use of managerial skills that eventually rewards him with personal happiness and professional growth.
Task 3 Time management is important in personal life and professional career. Discipline is one of the most important skills required for effective time management. It further empowers the individual to manage the stress in personal life, and while working in an organisation. With better management of stress, a person can take the decisions effectively. With proper decision making, time management gets a boost when the individual prioritises the work.
Since any task needs to be completed in a given time frame, the work has to be scheduled in such a manner that the task demanding utmost priority must be completed first, while the task with least priority could be completed in the last. Hence, effective time management helps the person to finish the task within stipulated time, and also, to ignore the least important task, which does not contribute to either personal or professional development. Successful managers continuously learn to develop their personal and professional skills through persistence, and by using a pro-active approach of problem solving, rather than a reactive approach.
Whenever possible, they try to predict the possible outcome of a business strategy, and make necessary adjustments if the results deviate from the planned approach. In turn, they try to minimise the risk factors in business, prevent losses, and maximise profits through effective time management.
