Multi project resource scheduling is a very important factor of project management. A project manager needs to be in control and deal with all aspects of a project put before him and that alone is an overwhelming and daunting task. To help alleviate some of the tasks involved with project management of several projects one will generally outsource specific jobs. This will form a natural reaction to methodology. These managers can then hire the additional staff needed for office personnel, engineering, real estate if any, design and the overall production performance of either the people involved with the project, the way the project runs after implementation or both. For some, they would rather not do multi projecting so that they can be more involved with all phases where as in multi projecting, there are many facets than the “main” project manager will not be aware of or have the time to be aware of. Hiring additional project managers requires a lot of trust in the person and that person must have a good work ethic and the capability to manage people in a positive way. If outsourcing is something that needs to be done, take your time in determining who will be the resource in which you turn.
