Life has different ways of showing people the realities of life. There were some who would opt to live life distinctly, so that they may be able to see the realities offered to them. The documentary, T-Shirt Travels, was a documentary that focused on how poverty consumed the people of Zambia. Bloemen showed how the people were treated unfairly. The documentary was able to show the realities that other people were unaware of. It was heartbreaking to know that the charity work being done by citizens of the United States were being transformed into a business in Zambia.

One of the famous charities in the United Sates was the Salvation Army. In the documentary, it was stated that the clothes would be sent in bundles to third world countries to be sold. Such actions were pitiful, for the people who had less in life had to suffer, just to be given the privilege of wearing western clothes. The interviews included in the documentary were also factors to be considered. The said interviews also made the documentary more realistic, primarily because the instances included in the paper showed how difficult life was in Zambia.

It was heartbreaking to see the status of the people at that time. In addition to this, I felt furious with how the people of Zambia were being treated by people from the West. It was heartbreaking to know that the people of Zambia had to suffer the consequences of poverty. Furthermore, the viewers are brought to a realization of how people from all over the world are treated unfairly. The clothes that were being donated by people from the United States were unfairly sold to people in Zambia. Watching the documentary made me feel fortunate about my current status in life.

I am able to buy brand new clothes, without having to worry about having to pay excessively. The people from Zambia, on the other hand, are being cheated by the very people who have offered their services. Such economically challenged country should not be used in trying to earn much money. Instead, they should be the very basis of care and support from countries that have more in life. From everything that has been seen and said in the documentary, I believe that people in position should become more aware of the harsh realities of life.

People in position should take the initiative to fix the disturbing acts that have been occurring in people from all over the world. In addition to this, the people from the third world countries, such as Zambia, should be given more importance as compared to first world countries. These countries have difficulty in trying to improve the poverty in their area, but tend to fail because they are being abused greatly. It is never too late to help in the upheaval of society. We just have to work hard and believe that we can fulfill these improvements for the betterment of society.
