The strategic plan
As the director of Emergency Medical Service, my strategic planning will be in three parts with five sections. Basically, the strategic plan will answer three major questions – Where we are now? Where we are going? And how will get there? (Carter). The five sections will be the definition of the vision of the organization, the mission statement and organizational values, definition of the organization’s critical success factors, definition of the strategies to get the work done and a schedule for the achievement of each objective (Carter).
The vision statement will be a concise statement that describes the business/organization. This section will be a short statement encompasses why the organization was formed, the core of the organization and the definition of the problem that the organization is to respond to. The mission statement and organizational values will include themes drawn from the vision statement. This will be an elaboration of the duties of the organization and overall organizational capacities. The function of the organization and the core values that will form the foundation of the organization will be highlighted under this section.

It will elaborate on the distribution of duties to the various positions in the organization. The final section will contain a list of schedule for the various goals and duties to be performed in the organization.
