Non-monetary incentives play a large role in relieving stress. At work, the management typically thinks that their subordinates are only after monetary incentives to motivate them to perform better, but actually, if the management first tries to understand the subordinate’s needs, they will find out that there are some employees who are not only after “financial incentives like: 1) piecework systems; 2) production bonus systems; 3) commissions; 4) suggestion plans; 4) group incentive plans; 5) profit-sharing; 6) gain-sharing; 7) etc” (Motivation, n. d. ).
There are also several employees who are looking for challenges and so motivations should also include: “job rotation, job enlargement, job enrichment, as well as, contact with users of the product or service” (Motivation, n. d. ).
