Wal-mart key strength exists in human capital management. Wal-mart biggest strength is in recruitment, training, development and retaining skilled and efficient employees. New recruitments of hourly paid workers have to wait up to six months for receiving benefits and part-time workers are eligible to join the plan only after completion of service of two years. Workers are offered health plans and insurance schemes.

According to the vice-president Wal-Mart, based in Bentonville, Ark., about 40% of employees were not covered under health plan before joining the company. “These are people who probably would have fallen through the cracks before coming to Wal-Mart. ” International HRM strategies Strategic International Human Resource Management (SIHRM) is catching up in this era of globalisation and is considered as most important to companies all over the world.
